I wanted to create something simple that I could use with my class every week to help build their confidence in speaking and writing Irish.
I’ve designed two versions — one for younger classes and one for older classes. There is a version with text support and another without text, so older pupils can use it more independently for writing practice.
There are three sets of sheets:

Clothes and Weather

Things They Like
The idea is to use them regularly throughout the week. For example:
On Monday, pupils take out the Clothes and Weather sheet. They circle the weather and either write about it underneath or draw a picture to match. They then circle what they are wearing and do the same.
On the next day, they use the Lunchbox sheet. Again, they circle what is in their lunchbox, draw it below, and for the older classes, add simple sentences to describe it.
It’s a lovely, manageable activity that helps children become comfortable using everyday phrases in Irish in a relaxed and consistent way.
